WebNov 19, 2002 · I used to Fly a Buzzard Bombshell on Rudder only Pulse proportional. Was a great flyer then and yours should be too! I remember getting long thermal flights with out much effort. As a matter of fact that is the plane I first learned to fly rc with many many moons ago. A verry nice man named Cy Ferrar helped me learn to fly with it. WebNov 18, 2024 · Leading & trailing edges are stiff 5# A grain balsa from exceptional wood. Rudder is 5# C grain balsa. 1/4" x 1/16" cap strips (ribs) are springy 12# balsa near the root, and lighter 8# twords the tip. Stab tips are 5# A/B. grain balsa. Titebond 2 glue used along with thick CA for cap ribs. Weights; Rudder 7.3 grams.

I built this plane in about 1982-84, so it's pushing 25 years old, and used a combination of 1940s and 1980s technology. The rudder is 4" wide at the base. The elevators are 1 1/4 wide.

Just finished a Buzzard Bombshell build from a laser cut kit I traded a friend for (not sure who made it). Electric powered, with a Turnigy G46-670kV on 4S.
